Join Our Creative Community
Calapooia Clay LLC is a welcoming space where potters and ceramic artists come together to create, learn, and grow. To join our studio community, prospective members must first take one of our five-week wheel throwing or hand-building classes. For experienced potters trained elsewhere, an orientation session is required before access to Open Studio time. Although our studio is currently full, you are welcome to visit and add your name to the waitlist to become a Punchcard or Studio member as you begin your journey with us through classes and workshops.
Punch Card Membership
Punch Cards offer flexible access to the studio:

Purchase a ten-session Punch Card for $120, valid for 6 months.

Use each “punch” for a 3-hour Open Studio session, with a limit of 2 sessions per week.

Access to all studio equipment, including wheels, slab roller, extruder, and glazes.

Bisque and glaze firing are included.

A locker is assigned to store your clay and tools.

Clay must be purchased from the studio.

Studio users are expected to clean up and follow safety protocols.

Studio Membership
Our Studio Members enjoy expanded access and benefits:

Up to three, 3-hour Open Studio sessions per week for $120/month.

Assigned shelf space for personal storage of tools, clay, and works in progress.

Must have foundational knowledge from Calapooia Clay or equivalent classes.

Orientation is required before beginning.

Clay must be purchased from Calapooia Clay.

Monthly invoices are emailed and valid for the month in which they are paid.

Members must maintain studio cleanliness and safety.

Open Studio
Open Studio sessions are limited in number (15 total participants each session), and advanced registration is required. Studio and Punch Card Members, as well as current class participants are eligible to participate.
Please allow plenty of time at the end of your Open Studio session to thoroughly clean your workspace, tools, and equipment. This helps ensure the studio is ready and welcoming for the next artists, and allows our Studio Managers to finish their duties and leave on schedule.
