At Calapooia Clay, we believe pottery is more than just art—it’s a joyful journey shared with passionate people. Located in the heart of Albany, Oregon, our studio brings together ceramicists of all backgrounds to explore, learn, and create in a friendly and inspiring community environment.

Please note: We are a community-focused studio and do not support production pottery. If your vision is creative exploration, learning, and connection, we’re ready to help you succeed!

What We Offer

Step into a fully-equipped ceramics workspace designed for beginners and seasoned potters alike. Every member enjoys access to electric and kick wheels, slab rollers, extruders, kilns, glazes, spacious tables, a variety of molds, and every tool needed to bring pottery dreams to life. Our Cone 5/6 electric kilns deliver beautiful, long-lasting results, and for those eager to experiment, we offer special Raku firings for striking ornamental pieces.

Studio Atmosphere

We value creativity, collaboration, and continuous learning. Our classes and open studio sessions are limited in size to ensure personal attention and a supportive atmosphere. Whether starting out or honing advanced techniques, everyone is welcomed with encouragement and guidance.

Materials & Resources

Our high-quality clays are sourced from Tacoma Clay Arts Center and curated for excellent results. Studio members and class participants can choose from a selection of mid-range clays and a dozen vibrant studio glazes. All materials are available for purchase, complete with access to firings and finishing resources.
